“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.”

As a parent, I understand the importance of preserving the precious seasons of your family’s life. I am forever living in nostalgic “remember-when” moments and photography is my way of freezing time. Whatever chapter of your family love story you may be in, documenting these moments matters. Don’t be surprised if I ask you to do some silly things like jump, dance, or tickle each other. There is magic in the expressions captured right after the silly request has been completed, and capturing genuine joy is my main objective in family photo sessions. Children are encouraged to run around, play, and be silly. My passion is seeing and capturing the perfect in-between moments and unique perspectives. I love creating child and family portraits that are beautiful, genuine, and emotional.
Location
Children and family portraits may be captured in the comfort of your home or various outdoor locations that feature natural settings or the urban cityscape. Whether you prefer the vibrant colors and textures of downtown Austin or the gorgeous rural locations with big open fields, beautiful trees, and unique creeks, Austin TX provides a variety of locations offering stunning backdrops. Choosing a location that is special to your family is a wonderful way to add a personal touch to your images. Or, I have a list of my favorite locations to help you select the ideal setting for your family photo shoot.
Scheduling
When planning your family portraits, it’s never too early to book, particularly for fall photos! My calendar fills up quickly, and it’s always best to reach out sooner rather than later. Keep in mind, outdoor family sessions are done the hour before sunset for optimal lighting.
What to Wear
Don’t let clothing coordination overwhelm you! I recommend simple, classic apparel that is comfortable and reflects your style. Neutrals, creams and soft pastels photograph beautifully amidst the colorful outdoor backdrops, as well as bold color combinations such as navy and gold. Have fun with rich textures, layers, simple patterns, ruffles, and accessories… the possibilities are endless! I am always happy to converse with you or weigh in on outfit choices if you would like a little help. My mantra is keep it simple and comfortable. Whenever possible, bare feet are always preferred!
